Year 6 AU. H/G; R/Hr. Sirius Black is dead, Lord Voldemort failed to learn the entirety of the Prophecy of his defeat, Dolores Umbridge was chased from Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and Harry Potter departed once again for 4 Privet Drive. But just because school has ended for summer doesn't mean the war has.

Harry and Ginny must deal with unforseen consequences of the Chamber of Secrets while Fudge plots to control the Boy Who Lived and break the Order of the Phoenix. Fudge's machinations leave Harry cut off from the wizarding world and at the mercy of an out-of-control Vernon Dursley.

And while the wizarding world fights over the fate of the Boy Who Lived, Voldemort awakes forbidden, forgotten Lore to wage his war on the wizarding world.

I was a bit confused in the beginning of your story as to who was talking and why Nessie would pretend to be Edward's neice. But then, it became apparant who was talking (Bella) and why the ruse. I thought it was neat how you aged Nessie based on what we knew from BD.

I liked how you made known Edward's inferior feelings regarding how he compares himself to Bella and her abilities. We witness how he is still unsure of himself and the reader can't help but want to assuage his fears. You do a great job keeping him canon.

It was nice how you added to Rosalie's and Bella's tentative relationship.

You might want to keep an eye on your capitalization after speaking quotes.

Thanks for the review.  You're right - at the time of writing this story my dialogue tag punctuation needed a lot of fixing.  I never like to change my old fanfics, because I prefer to be able look back at my past mistakes and see the improvements I've made.  But thanks anyway.

 

I love thinking about how the dynamics between characters, like Rosalie and Bella, would change with time.  Rosalie is one of my favourite characters to explore in this way.
